বাংলাদেশের চট্টগ্রাম শহরের একটি পুরাতন ভাড়া বাসা। এক কলেজ ছাত্র কম দামে একটি বাসা ভাড়া নেয়। শুরু থেকেই বাসার পরিবেশ কিছুটা অস্বাভাবিক মনে হয়। কিন্তু টাকার অভাবে সে তা উপেক্ষা করে।

বাসার মালিক বলে দিয়েছিল,

“এই স্টোর রুমে যাওয়া যাবে না। আগে যারা ছিল, তারা সমস্যা ফেইস করছিল।”

ছাত্রটি প্রথমে গুরুত্ব দেয়নি। তবে কয়েকদিনের মধ্যেই ঘরের কোণ থেকে টিক… টিক… টিক… শব্দ শুনতে শুরু করে। সে ভাবে, হয়তো টিকটিকি। কিন্তু সবচেয়ে অদ্ভুত বিষয় ছিল — ঘরের কোণটি কখনোই আলোয় পরিষ্কার হতো না, যেন আলো সেখান থেকে গিলে নিচ্ছে!

👣 অদ্ভুত শব্দের ভয়

রাত গভীর হলেই শব্দ বদলে যেতে থাকে।
“ধপ… ধপ…” — ভেজা মাংসের মতো শব্দ যেন মেঝেতে পড়ছে।
একদিন সে দেখে, স্টোর রুমের দরজা খোলা আর সেখানে কেউ দাঁড়িয়ে আস্তে আস্তে নড়ছে।
ভয়ে দরজা বন্ধ করে দেয়।

পরদিন সকালে কাজের মহিলা এসে মুখ কালো করে বলল,

“আপনি ও ঘরের দরজা খুলছেন?”
সে কিছু বলার আগেই মহিলা বাসা ছেড়ে চলে যায়।

এরপর প্রতিদিন একই কাহিনি। একরাতে ছেলেটি কান্না করতে করতে বাসা ছেড়ে দেয়। আর কখনো ফিরে যায়নি।

বাসার সেই স্টোর রুমটি এখনো তালাবদ্ধ। তবে মাঝেমধ্যে পাশের বাড়ির লোকজন বলে—

“রাতে ওই ঘরের ভেতর আলো জ্বলে… আর কেউ যেন ধীরে ধীরে হাঁটে।
